“A message from the Pioneer Library System:
With the Finger Lakes region entering Phase One on May 15, the Pioneer Library System is working closely with our 42 member libraries in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, and Livingston counties to prepare to reopen with the health of our libraries’ staff and patrons as the top priority.
Our libraries are currently developing the plans required for reopening under NY Forward and securing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed prior to interacting with the public in accordance with CDC and OSHA guidelines.
The individual libraries are in various stages of navigating the intricacies of reopening. The system-wide plan encourages libraries to begin services during Phase Four (Arts, Entertainment, Recreation, Education) in the Governor’s approach. This will allow time to prepare buildings and acquire hard to find equipment.
On behalf of our OWWL libraries and staff, thank you for your patience and understanding while we navigate this unprecedented situation. We look forward to resuming services in our communities in a manner that is safe to all.”

While you are waiting for the libraries to reopen try some of these activities:

The Wyoming Free Circulating Library Association is located in the village of Wyoming, NY.   As an association library and part of the Pioneer Library System we not only serve the Village of Wyoming and the surrounding villages but also provide materials through inter-library loan to the other 42 libraries in the system located in Wyoming, Wayne, Livingston and Ontario Counties.

The library has continuously been an integral part of the community and governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees since its charter was granted in 1889.   The Wyoming Free Library is dedicated to serving the community as an educational, cultural and literary center. We provide free recreational, educational and informational materials and services that promote an environment which encourages all community members to utilize the libraries’ programs and resources.
